Pre-Professional Division
Where Technique Meets Artistry
-
Entry into Levels 4–8 is by placement evaluation. Advancement is based on ability, commitment, and technical readiness—not age. Each student’s growth path is unique, and TDC faculty carefully assess when a dancer is ready to move forward.

Levels 4 through 8 are part of TDC’s Pre-Professional Division, designed for committed students who are ready for the discipline and rigor of advanced classical ballet training. This structured curriculum nurtures both technical refinement and artistic development, preparing dancers for auditions, competitions, and potential professional careers.
-
As dancers advance through Levels 4 to 8, they are challenged with increasing intensity in:
Classical Ballet Technique
Pointe & Variations
Pas de Deux
Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT)
Cross-Training & Conditioning
Classical & Contemporary Repertoire
Rehearsals for Performances & Competitions
Each level builds on the last, encouraging mastery, discipline, and a deeper understanding of movement and artistry.
Dancers study partnering technique in a guided, respectful setting. Platter tutu required (Mia Dancewear or Nikolay), and pointe shoes must be fitted at Grit and Grace Studio to Streetwear.
-
Training increases with each level, typically reaching:
5–6 days per week
Regular rehearsals for performance and competition pieces
Typical daily schedule:
5:30-6:30 - PBT
6:30-8:00 - Ballet Technique
8:00-9:00 - Pointe / Variations
-
To begin pointe work, dancers must:
